Murgaon Education Society was established in 1971 with the noble goal of providing educational facilities at Vasco-da-Gama and in other parts of Murgaon Taluka. By developing professional skills among its students and by providing them with a select core of leadership qualities, the college over the years has become a positive force for regional, national and global development.
The first educational institution set up by the Murgaon Education Society was the College of Arts & Commerce at Vasco-Da-Gama in 1972. This was also the first composite Arts and Commerce College in the State of Goa to be affiliated to the University of Mumbai. It was subsequently affiliated to Goa University in 1986.
