A charming Indo-Portuguese village, Betalbatim is a place surrounded by lush green rice fields and whispering palms where one can come to escape from the stresses of city living and relax in a serene secluded area.
In Betalbatim one can see some old palacios built during the Portuguese era that belong to the landlords or the region's Goenkars. However they can be viewed only from outside, as none are open to visitors.
Located two km north to Colva, the Betalbatim beach has stretches of golden sands where one can relax with the sound of swaying palms and the shimmering waters of the Arabian Sea. One can see a lot of dolphins in the area and usually there are local fishermen that take you for a dolphin trip.
Betalbatim has restaurants that serve seafood, Goan cuisine and vegetarian dishes. Also there are quite a number of guest houses, hotels and beach resorts for accommodation. For all those who want a peaceful and truly relaxing place to enjoy in Goa, Betalbatim is the place to be.
