Caranzalem is a small village located in the Tiwadi taluka of North Goa. It is known to be one of the fastest growing suburbs of Panaji and has a lot of places to visit. The area also has a beach known as the Caranzalem beach which is located at about 4 kms from Panjim.
Caranzalem is well known among the people of Goa as it was a popular venue for bull fights in the earlier days before bull fighting was banned. These days however at times the people do enjoy some illegal bull fight games that are held here.
Caranzalem has a chapel known as the Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary. There is also a football ground situated here known as the Caranzalem Football Ground.
One can enjoy a lot of sightseeing while in Caranzalem as there are a number of attractions surrounding the village. Cabo Raj Bhavan, the British Cemetery, the Goa Science Museum and St Inez cemetery are some of the areas one can visit that are located not too far away. There are also a number of beaches surrounding the village such as the Bambolim Beach, Dona Paula Beach, the Vainguinim Beach the Miramar Beach.
There are also a number of hotels, restaurants and apartments for rent situated in Caranzalem. The village is well connected with the villages of Taleigao and Bambolim as its neighbours. The Karmali Railway Station and the Dabolim Airport can also be reached by road from Caranzalem.
