Old Goa was the former capital of Goa, until the plague forced everyone to move out of Old Goa. Old Goa houses many churches. Se Cathedral, is the cathedral of the Latin Rite Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Goa and Daman and the seat of the Patriarch of the East Indies. Close to it, located between the Church of St Francis of Assisi and Sé Cathedral, is the Kristu Kala Mandir Art Gallery.

This art gallery houses some Christian art and artifacts.This was also the former residence of The Bishop of Goa, Damman and Diu. It houses a lot of beautiful antique furniture.
