Although the traditional way of cooking may not be practical as it is often time consuming. This does not serve a problem for the goan people who believe the nicer
the dish the longer it takes to produce. The preparation of grinding and marinating is a long process but goans take satisfaction in cooking food not only eating it.
Ingredients :
185 ml. Vegetable oil
200 gms. Sugar
2 eggs
140 gms flour
1 tsp. Baking powder
½ tsp cinnnamon powder
½ tsp. Salt
140 gms. Peeled and chopped apples
2 tsps. Chopped nuts (optional)
1 tsp vanilla essence
Preparation :
Blend Oil and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift together dry ingredients and add to egg mixture.
Stir in chopped apples, nuts and vanilla. Pour into a greased pan.
Bake a pre-heated oven at Gas Mk. 4 for about an hour until nice and brown. Check piercing a knife to see if it comes out clean
